Abstract

The objective of this research is to generate local development strategies through community management for the creation of a sustainable ecotourism route in the municipalities of Huauchinango, Juan Galindo, and Tlaola. Despite the study area's rich natural and cultural heritage, institutional planning actions are insufficient. Furthermore, strategies that promote local economic and cultural development are scarce; therefore, these must arise from the needs of the inhabitants. In this sense, through a participatory action methodology, the following will be sought: 1) Create strategies to foster a solidarity economy; 2) Generate appropriation, conservation, and safeguarding strategies; 3) Encourage community collaboration; and 4) Involve the relevant authorities in the project. The above is because proposing cultural heritage management and community development can have a significant impact on the promotion of sustainable tourism, heritage conservation, and local economic development. As a result of this research, cultural heritage management and community development strategies will be developed for the regional ecotourism route, promoting local development and addressing the three basic pillars of sustainable development.
