Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • Wherever possible, URLs are provided for references.
  • The text has single spacing; 12 point font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements summarized in the Author Guidelines, which appear in About the journal.

CALL FOR PAPERS SUBMISSION

“PRAGMA”

Research Journal of the Faculty of Architecture of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico.

 

Pragma permanently invites the community of the Faculty of Architecture of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, as well as members of other national and international academic institutions to submit papers to be published in the journal. These will be evaluated and, where appropriate, published according to the order of reception in the following sections:

Architecture, Urban Planning and Visual Communication. The topics to be discussed include, among others: architecture, urban planning, conservation of built heritage, construction and environment, graphic design, territorial studies, visual communication, sustainability, technology, and related areas.

  • Unpublished research articles will be considered for publication, subject to peer arbitration according to the referee system (double-blind modality) and anonymous authors. In communications between the responsible editor and the referees, the identification data of the author(s) will be omitted.
  • Reviews of scientific literature and book reviews are also received.
  • The extension will be 15 to 20 letter-size pages, in all cases the number of pages includes text, figures, tables and bibliographic references.
  • Authors will NOT send their text for evaluation to other journals at the same time and will NOT publish the same article in another media, after a letter of transfer of rights is signed.
  • It is requested to send texts in digital form: the complete document in Word, and figures in 300 dpi in jpg format in separate files; through the journal site: http://www.apps.buap.mx/ojs3/index.php/pragmau/index
  • Contributions will be received in Spanish and English.

Text structure:

o Title, name and affiliation of authors, email of the corresponding author, Abstract in Spanish and English, Keywords in Spanish and English, Introduction, Method(s), Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Cited bibliography.

 

Editorial recommendations:

  1. The title of the work should be brief and specific (maximum 15 words).
  2. Name of responsible author and co-authors
  3. Complete institutional affiliation of all authors, also indicating the postal address, telephone number and email address.
  4. Brief curriculum vitae of each author including academic degree, current job position and research area (500 characters).

E Abstract in Spanish and English, with a maximum length of 250 words in a single paragraph and include three to six keywords in English and Spanish. If the text is written in English, the summary will also be written in Spanish.

  1. Use footnotes instead of endnotes.
  2. Bibliographic references. Include a minimum of 5 references published in the last five years. For reasons of uniformity of presentation, the writing style of the references will conform to the American Psychological Association (APA) system.

ARCHITECTURE

Architecture. Articles are included that address topics related to the built environment at its different scales and typologies. Studies on residential, commercial, educational, health buildings, etc. are accepted. Topics may cover construction processes, materials, building technologies, architectural history, theory and methodologies of design and analysis, architectural teaching, sustainability and others.

TOWN PLANNING

Town planning. This section includes articles related to urban planning, urban design, landscape and territorial planning, both from a scientific and theoretical analysis perspective, as well as from a technical, practical and educational perspective.

ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING

Architecture and Urbanism. Articles are included that deal with topics related to the built environment at different scales and typologies. Studies on residential, commercial, educational, health, etc. habitat are accepted. Topics may cover construction processes, materials, technologies, architectural history, design and analysis theory and methodologies, teaching architecture, sustainability, and others; and may be intertwined with aspects or perspectives related to urbanism, urban design, landscape, and territorial planning, both from a scientific and theoretical analysis perspective, as well as from a technical, practical, and educational perspective.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Visual communication. It includes papers on topics of information transmission through visual media, whether digital or printed. It may include theoretical, methodological, educational, technological texts regarding various applications of visual communication in multiple areas.
