Abstract

Speaking and listening about the care of the environment seems a distant problema to the professionals, it is a case that is alien to us and that only belongs to the businessmen and politicians deal with it either for good or for bad. There is an indifference discipline of the visual design to focus on spreading studied and justified images with the theme of care and defense of the natural environment in which we live.

That is why the graphic designer before being a designer is a human being therefore requires a commitment to his profession and the environment; in this way the graphic designer must think before doing, that is to say to investigate, to understand, to interpret, to develop images for its correct creation. “The best way to investigate is to get in the public place, interact with it and become as familiar as possible with the context of the project. To achieve this level of research you have to be active and open to lines of research that people with whom we relate. (Leonard N., Ambrose, G. 2013, p.10)

The role of the graphic designer in society should generate images that inform and impact through a graphic that communicates an effective message and provoke a positive action in the person to generate awareness of the care of the environment and the good use of materials.

There are different organizations and groups of graphic designers that promote the development of a green graphic ie images related to the care of the planet, such as Ekoplagát, in Ukraine whose main objective of the exhibition is to present and encourage the production of posters concerning the conservation of the environment and nature in the international context. The public’s knowledge and activity must be increased to solve environmental problems in today’s world and support education and environmental ethics.
