Abstract
The population increase of older adults in Latin America is a challenge today for the development of large cities, since in urban areas the inclusion of this population sector implies that the urban infrastructure must be adapted to the needs of older adults so that public spaces are accessible and friendly for them. The objective of this study is to analyse community management processes as a participatory strategy for the improvement of pedestrian mobility for older adults on a neighbourhood scale. Likewise, community management is fundamental in the process of urban inclusion to improve accessibility and pedestrian mobility through the implementation of neighborhood actions because it implies involving different key actors in decision-making related to urban planning in projects that benefit this population, providing public spaces adequate to their needs.
