The persistent androcentric approach in the housing units of Puebla

Abstract

This article has the purpose of analyzing and reflecting on the persistent androcentric approach in the construction of housing units, specifically in public spaces that place women in a vulnerable situation. An evaluation was carried out on the urban environment of the Infonavit Amalucan housing unit in the municipality of Puebla. The results identified physical elements of the built environment that generate active and passive violence towards women. One of the conclusions is to incorporate the feminist gender perspective into the discipline of urban planning to rethink the conditions of consolidated urban settlements.
