Abstract
Presentation of Number 1 of PRAGMA journal
The journal Pragma, space and visual communication began in 2008 as a collaborative work of the Faculty of Architecture of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP). The scientific journal was directed by Dr. María Cristina Valerdi Nochebuena, who was responsible for the publication until 2019. Pragma, space and visual communication was born with the intention of offering a communication space to professors-researchers of the Faculty of Architecture, from other BUAP Faculties and for external collaborators. Throughout 17 issues published in print on a biannual basis, the scientific production of various researchers and specialists related to the area of construction and architectural technology, heritage conservation, urban planning and visual communication was disseminated.
At the end of 2019, the Faculty of Architecture Management decided to move the journal to a digital version. The intention was to disseminate the published articles more widely and have a greater impact both nationally and internationally. In 2022, the reservation of the right for the exclusive use of the name PRAGMA was obtained and the virtual space where the journal would be hosted was managed. The editorial team of the digital version of Pragma is very happy to present the number one of year one of the PRAGMA journal corresponding to the period October 2022 to March 2023. We hope it will be the first of many.
Pragma's mission is to be an academic publication whose main objective is to disseminate results of scientific, theoretical, and technological research projects related to the field of habitat design and visual communication developed by academics and other social actors in educational institutions of higher education and research and technological development centers. It is aimed at academics, students and interested parties related to the subject with the purpose of strengthening the training processes and consolidation of their professional activity.
The digital Pragma journal is divided into three sections: Architecture, Urban Planning and Visual Communication. The call to receive works is permanently open. We are convinced that research products, as well as the generation of knowledge, must be disseminated so that other scholars reflect, investigate, analyze, and make contributions in these areas so that society ultimately benefits from it.
